Adverse drug reactions due to gabapentin-nortriptyline in patients with neuropathic pain in a tertiary care teaching hospital

Gabapentin and Nortriptyline are used to treat neuropathic pain. belongs a group of drugs called anti-convulsant tricyclic antidepressant. acts by binding the specific site on voltage- gated calcium channels. This helps in relieving nerve pain lowers risk seizure. works preventing released chemical messengers brain (serotonin norepinephrine) from being reabsorbed back into cells. As result, it prolongs effect serotonin norepinephrine over time, this relieve depression lighten mood. We reporting case series including 3 patients having taking tablet gabapentin-nortriptyline department neurology, Patna medical college hospital, developed some adverse drug reactions. Causality assessment was done each Naranjo scale. Each filled properly ADR (adverse reaction) form sent nearby reaction monitoring centre (AMC). During posting for pharmacovigilance neurology 01/07/2022 30/09/2022 we got three reactions due gabapentin-nortriptyline. Two them were one nortriptyline. Gabapentin-nortriptyline is most commonly department. It causes frequent as well rare which required be assessed finally reported AMC.
